NDP Music

Song of the birdsKatina Laotaris
00:00 / 00:53

All of the music included in the show has been taken either from the medieval period which the story is set in or  has been adapted from ancient and modern folkloric music from across the world. Our musicians are both classically and contemporary trained and have composed music specifically for the show. The decision not to use amplified music for the show was taken to honor the period the story is set in. Mixing genres of circus, theatre and dance gave us the freedom to use a wide variety of music and song to bring the story to life.

The set features an original 19th century full size pipe organ transported from a Welsh church and now touring with NDP Circus. This magnificent instrument features 500 different size pipes from piccolo to basso profundo made of zinc, wood, tin and lead and is unique amongst touring theatre productions.
