Nos services

Paul Liengaard, NDP Director, is proud to present an 8-week theatre course combining physical theatre, performance and character work. 

Location: (In person) The Old School Hall, The Mansion, Totnes (next to the Library, use Library entrance). 
Price: £12, to be paid online or in person (cash). Please book via the link on the left. 


The weekly classes can be taken as individual standalone sessions or a full 8-week course. The classes will run from 1st February until 21st March. (next course dates TBC). The first 2 sessions are available to book, next classes to be added in February. 

Detail: 
Each 1.5hr session will be comprised of a guided warm-up followed by group dynamic exercises developing into specific character work and exploring dramatic situations. With emphasis on enjoying ourselves and working to our strengths!

There may be opportunities to develop a performance. 

Open to all levels (beginners to professional) and all genders. 
This course is for people aged 16 and over.

About Paul: 

Paul has over 40 years experience in the performing arts having performed, produced, and directed local and international touring shows as well as working in film and television. 

Paul enjoys all forms of theatre with a particular interest in the physical theatre genre developed by Le Coq and forms such as Commedia del Arte and melodrama, as well as being well versed in the Stavislavski and Method genres of Acting. Paul has a deep working knowledge of traditional and contemporary circus which he has sucsessfully combined in international touring shows as Theatrical Circus. Paul is passionate about Theatre and combining genres to tell stories, often using music, dance, aerial, and other techniques to enhance and develop the story. He is currently exploring the relationship between nature and the mythological world and AI. 

 

These classes will have something to enrich and challenge everyone. Passionate about encouraging collaboration to tell the story and using a combination of techniques drawn from theatre, circus and a life on the road, Paul is adept at guiding and enabling experienced and inexperienced performers to ‘play their part.’
